This is the story of owning and operating a 1993 Beech Bonanza A36 in the UK and some of its adventures.
Now my Bonanza A36 is back on the UK register as G-FOZZ I can resume my IMC training. Last night was booked for my first lesson and it truly was an IMC night together with cross-winds galore and much more.
The lesson went well (I think) with revision of the basic stuff and plenty of flying around Morecambe Bay and climbing up only to descend soon after and all without looking out the window. There wouldnt have been much point in any case as there was nothing to see.
Setting the Bonanza up for a slow cruise of 140knots we saw a ground speed of 206knots when going with the wind behind us! If we had gone at the Bonanzas max cruise (which I dont really do as it seems cruel) we would have had a ground speed in excess of 250Knots at 4000ft. Not bad but if we had gone anywhere too far north it would have taken a while to get back.
