Runway Lengths

Runway 28 is the main runway that will be in use when winds allow.

The runway edges are delineated by side strip marking. A fourth runway 02/20 is closed

Pilots approaching Blackpool under VFR must always contact Warton LARS 129.52 MHZ in the first instance.

Noise Abatement

Every operator of turbo-jet aircraft shall ensure at all times that aircraft are operated in a manner calculated to cause the least disturbance practicable in areas surrounding the airport.
These requirements may at any time be departed from to the extent necessary for avoiding immediate danger.

The following noise routeings shall apply to departing turbojet aircraft:

Runways 10 and 28 - Climb straight ahead to at least 1500 ft aal before turning onto course.
Runways 13/31 is NOT available for Turbo-jet/Turbo-fan engined aircraft except when weather conditions preclude the use of Runway 10/28.

Note: The above routeings are compatible with normal ATC practice. In individual cases they may be varied owing to operational circumstances
